* Music History *
Pursuing my drumming ambitions, I packed up and moved to Austin to
crash with some old band members from 1989. I found myself playing
with bands almost immediately and was playing 6th street clubs within 3
weeks of arriving in Austin. Chad Thomas was a recent relocate from
Houston and we hit it off at our first gig. I enjoyed playing with such a hip
and happening guys with their own style of rockabilly. We toured down to
Corpus Christi and to Houston on several occasions. I would probably
still be playing with Chad today had the Miami opportunity (described
below) not been so inviting.

While living in Texas I had the opportunity to take some lessons with two
of my favorite Drummers; Hunt Sales (of Iggy Pop, David Bowie and
Soupy Sales Fame) and Ernie Durawa (of Texas Tornados and Big Joe
Turner Fame).

After receiving a referral while playing in Austin, I traveled to Miami for a
weekend try-out with Michael Locke. A high energy R & B band that
averages 12 gigs a month, they were at the outset as serious as I about
performing. With a heavy Stevie influence, we returned to Miami from a
month long and quite successful US tour with 15 dates including 4 nights
at Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, NM and 3 nights at the Reno Hilton
November 2003.

Since returning to
California, my main gig is Amy Lou's Blues and I
occasionally Front my own band, Luke Piro and the Low-Income
Socialites.

I am always available for Tours, Gigs and Recordings.

The Dash Kizer and the Expressions

March 2006: San Francisco, CA
- A note from Dash Kizer and
the Expressions; This new record, Gospel Songs for the
Apocalypse, is my third offering. It’s mainly acoustic guitar,
my buddy Luke Piro playing drums, Mark Passell assisting
vocally, and me spouting off.  I think of it as a song cycle,
moving from “Living in Sin” to “My Mind on Jesus” in 7 easy
steps.

The Dash Kizer Experience is best described by Dash,
himself: "Red Neck Disco. . .Give it a lesson, you figure it
out."

I hope you’ll help us get this music into the right hands, not
to mention the hearts and minds of the masses. We really
do have a Gospel that needs spreading, a Word to
everyone who feels under-utilized and overworked. God
knows there’s an expanding market in that crowd.
